My name, Sehoon (世訓), means “teaching human” in Korean. However, the purpose of this site is not to educate, but to facilitate thinking; thought is not entirely the offspring of education and rather holds a special position of catalysis in the development of society. Existence is not manifested in thought, but thought gives a purpose to existence — a twist on Descartes, my beliefs would roughly be “I am, therefore I think.”
My focus on life has predominantly been in that of academia, because of the government mandated right (California Statutes, Chapter 465) granted to its citizens; the length of time spent on this very institution brings about personal greed in experiencing the latter extreme of the spectrum, and exploring new possibilities with education and philosophy. I plan to follow my ambition and continue academic education; I am especially interested in being both the consumer and producer of academic research on social psychology, linguistics and law.
I personally developed interests over time, that being of psychology, photography, philosophy, and programming. These interests developed over time as a way to communicate my beliefs and rationale with the world, inclusive of nature and humans alike.
I hope the posts on this website will intrigue your thought and shed new perspectives on issues that have hazy consensus.

미국에서 초・중・고를 나오고, 현재 대학교를 바라보고 있는 김세훈 (金世訓)입니다. 어렸을때 부터 「언어학」,「철학」,「심리학」에 관심이 많아서, 그 분야에 관련된 많은 정보를 접하게 됐습니다 (특히 언어 쪽에는 프로그래밍 언어와 한국어/일본어). 그동안 제가 배운 여러가지를 여러분들과 함께 공유하고 싶어서 블로그를 한번 만들어 봤습니다.
확실히 서양쪽 문화와 언어는 동양적인 성향을 띄지는 않지만, 비슷한 점들은 많습니다. 미국인, 혹은 한국인이라는 국가적인 틀, 혹은 인종차별적인 틀에 갇힌 사고를 이어나가면 사회는 발전할 수가 없습니다; 또한, 새로운 multicultural/international한 (다문화적(多文化的), 다국가적(多國家的)) 사회에서 살아남으려면, 인간은 그에 맞게 발전을 해야 됩니다. 그 발전의 발판을 이룰 수 있는것은 커뮤니케이션 (소통) 이라고 생각합니다.
제가 살아가며 배워온 영어, 프로그래밍 언어, 심리학/철학적인 정보와 생각, 그리고 개인적으로 취미로 하고있는 포토그래피를 최대한 살려서 이 블로그를 여러분들과 함께 좋은 환경으로 이어나가고 싶네요.
